The number of distressed properties continues to
decline and, in a handful of states, foreclosure rates are
approaching zero. In the 12 months through this past
November, North Dakota and West Virginia posted the
lowest number of foreclosure actions, at 260 and 375,
respectively, CoreLogic said. That compared to 48,000
in Florida and 31,000 in Michigan — the states with the
most foreclosures during the same period.

Homes sales end the year
on a high note
Total existing-home sales registered at an
annual rate of 5. 61 million this past November,
the highest pace since February 2007, the
National Association of Realtors reported.
In all regions, sales were running significantly
ahead of the year-earlier pace.
